Summer Party

This evening was the summer party BBQ for Evie's after school care. The theme was luau. There was also a talent show, though Evie didn't perform. Unfortunately the party ended with Evie falling from the bouncy house and getting a nasty booboo on her face.

Girlie Boy

Aunty Rachel was here this evening and decided to let Felix embrace his girlie side. Ponytails, and earrings, and super cute smiles. Our darling little Felicia!

Group 2

Today it was back to school for Evie after a far too short and much too wet summer vacation. She is in the same classroom as last year with the same teachers. But now she is in group 2! She rode her scooter to school today.
Evie found her chair!

Aviodrome

Another day, another museum. This time it was to the aviation museum in Lelystad, called Aviodrome. What a cool museum! There were real airplanes all over the place. Most of them you could go in and see all the different parts of them. There was even an old 747. Felix has been all into flying lately, so he was thoroughly enjoying everything. We brought an extra kid with us too, Bo.

Mama & Evie in the window.
So long, farewell!
The kids thought they could really fly the plane.
While it was dry, we ate outside.
(Guess we forgot to brush his hair...)
Felix spent a long time playing in this cockpit while the girls did pilot training.
Bo and Evie showing off their Lego creations.
There was also a demonstration of an airplane. Check out how the wings can fold up. It was quite impressive.
Of course there was a police motorcycle there...

Spoorwegmuseum

Today we went to the Dutch railway museum in Utrecht. Along for the ride came Jacques, Ulrike, Finn, Carla, and Jacob, as well as Opa Bas and Oma Wilma. You could drive to the railway museum, but what fun would that be? We took the trains there, of course. It was a cool museum with lots inside and outside.
Evie with the trains.
Felix inane of the royal trains.
Felix the conductor.
Evie said this was Felix's train because it was small.
Packed lunch with some french fries!
Felix and Carla in the Thomas train.
Outside was a kiddy ride in a "hi-speed" train. Every time it was dry, the line got long, but we just had to let the kids go for a ride.
Felix and Carla are in the second car from the left. Felix is waving.
Evie had to take a ride too.
As a souvenir we bought a real expired train timetable. This one is from a station in Amsterdam showing the route to Schiphol airport and The Hague. Now we have to figure out what we're going to do with such a big sign!
