Happy 4th of July!

Just because we live overseas, doesn't mean we have to miss out on some real American traditions- like 4th of July. This year we celebrated with a BBQ. We were joined by Ulrike, Carla, Menno, and Liz's colleague Sharon with her sister and cousin. The weather was nearly perfect - just a little bit too windy. After the kids went to bed we had a blast playing Apples to Apples.
Evie was showing off her writing skills to Menno. "Evie" on the first line, followed by our first letters (E-vie, M-ama, and P-apa. Then she surprised us by be able to write Felix's name. The only real mistake she made was she accidently used the I she had written when she went on to write an X. Now it reads Felx, but that's okay!

The barbecue!

Menno made some beautifully awesome patriotic cupcakes!

Vanilla cupcakes with raspberries and blueberries and a delicious buttercream! So good!

Even Carla was dressed in some 4th of July attire... hand-me-downs from Evie.

Mommy's Pride and Joy!

"Strike a pose!"
